Teeth can be straightened at any age and an increasing number of adults are receiving treatment. Fixed appliances are generally applied, and the brackets are either metal, clear or tooth coloured, and the type used will be discussed at your consultation. Invisalign
Invisalign are clear aligners which are removable, comfortable and nearly invisible. Once it has been confirmed that you are eligible for treatment, photos, x-rays and impressions will be taken of your teeth. A series of custom-made aligners are provided for you to wear every day for the recommended 22 hours a day and change at home – on average every 1-2 weeks. You will visit your orthodontist every 6-8 weeks to monitor your progress and receive a new aligner. Retainers will be required to maintain your new smile.
