Porcelain Veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain custom-made to fit over the front surface of a tooth to improve its appearance. Sometimes a natural-colour composite material is used instead of porcelain. They can be applied to single or multiple teeth that are damaged, crooked, or discoloured.

A veneer usually takes two appointments to fit. At the first appointment a small amount of preparation is carried out, moulds and a shade are taken and then sent to a special laboratory for a technician to custom-make. At the second appointment the veneer is fitted using a strong adhesive.

Veneers should last for many years and can be replaced if necessary.  Veneers are available as a private treatment, and your dentist will discuss options and fees with you.
